The Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) offers scholarships both to students who are not currently enrolled at the school and to students who are currently enrolled. At present these scholarships apply to the last two years of schooling – Years 11 and 12.

External
The AISM External Scholarship Programme offers a full scholarship to Malaysian citizens not enrolled at the school. The award of the scholarship is based on the strength of the student’s academic performance and school community involvement.

The scholarships are available to students enrolled in Malaysian schools and who are about to sit for the SPM examinations. The scholarship holders will enter Year 11 and continue to Year 12 and the Higher School Certificate. There are three full scholarships which cover all fees and a variety of other inclusions.

Introduction
The Lion-Parkson Foundation (formerly known as Lion-ASM Foundation) was incorporated on 3 September 1985 to administer and disburse funds for education, scientific and charitable purposes. It was set up by the Lion Group of Companies with funds contributed by the Group’s operating companies and business associates during the Group’s fund-raising drives. Since its launch in 1990, the Foundation has contributed a total of RM17.1 million to various charitable causes.

Scholarships and Education Loans
Todate, the Foundation has contributed RM7.5 million to a total of 357 students, in the form of scholarships and education loans in line with the Group’s aspiration to contribute to the country’s educational and human resources development. Every year, the Foundation awards scholarships and interest-free education loans to deserving students pursuing their first degrees in the local public institutions of higher learning.

Community Relations
The Foundation has also contributed another RM9.6 million towards other charitable causes such as welfare homes, orphanages, schools, hospitals, disaster funds and community projects aimed as uplifting and improving community.

To help students who want to study internationally during upcoming college semesters, the Rotary Club Scholarship Program is offering another round of its annual scholarships for club members who plan to study abroad.

With nearly 800 scholarships available, the Rotary Club Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for 2010-2011 awards. Applications are due April 15.

The scholarship program offers three types of ambassadorial scholarships — academic-year, multi-year and cultural scholarships. Academic-year scholarships provide a flat grant of $23,000 for one academic year; multi-year scholarships offer a flat grant of $11,500 per year for two years; and cultural scholarships provide grants between $10,000 and $15,000 for up to six months of intense language and cultural studies in another country.

Students who are selected as Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholars are called to act as “ambassadors of goodwill” while they are studying abroad. Accordingly, the scholars represent their homelands while in attendance at international rotary clubs, school districts and civic organizations. They are also required to make oral presentations about their homelands for international rotary clubs and other forums in the countries to which they travel.

The University of Patras grants scholarships for post-graduate studies at U.S.A. Universities to its graduands as well as its graduates of the following Faculties: School of Natural Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Health Sciences, the Department of Economics and the Department of Business Administration.

Priority is given to candidates who come from the Prefecture of Achaia.

The Scholarships are named "Andreas Mentzelopoulos Scholarships for the University of Patras". The Scholarships grantor is Mrs Corine Mentzelopoulos.

In order for a scholarship to be granted, the candidate’s academic record is taken into account as well as his/her family’s financial standing.

The scholarships provided for in specific regulations, are announced by the University annually (the first week of October every year), based on the financial potentialities, and are publicized in the Press as well as the University’s site.

The current announcement for the scholarships of the next academic year 2009-2010 is provided in Greek, describing the necessary application procedure.

The granted scholarships are only for full-time studies. Applications which concern distant learning or part-time attendance are not accepted.

Scholarships can also be granted to post-graduate students enrolled in a post-graduate Master’s degree programme and wish to continue their studies in order to obtain a Doctoral Degree (PhD).

The scholarships are initially for two years.

Scholarships of the Government of the Slovak Republic

The provision of development aid of the Slovak Republic (SR) in the area of education takes the form of the award of scholarships of the Government of the SR that are consistent with the conditions approved by the Government Resolution No.1096/2006 of 20 December 2006 on the evaluation of the Government Resolution No. 1053/2003, of 13 November 2003, on the award of scholarships of the SR Government and the proposal for the course of action in providing the development aid by the SR to the developing countries and to Slovaks living abroad for the years 2007 - 2010.

The official range of scholarship positions available is annually notified through the diplomatic offices of the SR abroad.

Under the development aid for the developing countries, the official offer is sent to the ministry of foreign affairs of the relevant country in accordance with the approved breakdown of countries and scholarship places in particular academic years.

Under the aid to Slovaks living abroad, the offer is sent to the official compatriot representatives according to the approved breakdown of countries and scholarship positions in relevant academic years.

Saxion University of Applied Sciences is offering two kinds of scholarship for talented (non-European) bachelor students.

1. Saxion Talent Scholarship (STS)

For talented students a partial scholarship is available that will give a substantial reduction on the tuition fee.

Requirements:

You must have admission to one of Saxion’s International Bachelor programmes as a new student in the bachelor programme,
You must be a student with a nationality from outside the EU/EEA,
Scholarships are only awarded for programmes of at least 6-month duration
Scholarships are awarded for one academic year.

How to apply for the scholarship:

The application for your Bachelor course, will also count as application for the Saxion Talent Scholarship. If you meet the entry requirements, the scholarship will automatically be granted to you on a first come, first served basis. You don’t have to fill in another application form for just the scholarship. The total number of available scholarships is limited.

2. Saxion Top Talent Scholarship (STTS)

This scholarship is for excellent and very talented (non-European) students and covers the tuition fee, with exception of the governmental registration fee which is approximately € 1,600.- (for 2009/2010).

Requirements:

You must have outstanding study results, with an average mark of 75% or higher,
You must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher,
You must be in or starting the admission procedure to one of Saxion’s International Bachelor Programmes as a new student in the bachelor programme,
You must be a student with a nationality from outside the EU/EEA,
Scholarships are only awarded for programmes of at least 6-month duration,
Scholarships are awarded for one academic year.

Get your creative juices flowing and enter the CIA's Top Turkey Recipe Contest, in which you can compete for up to $15,000 in scholarships, including our People's Choice Award on YouTube.

Send Us Your Top Turkey Idea
There are two ways to submit entries:

Option 1 Provide a written recipe, 300-word personal statement discussing your creation, three photos of your finished product, and the contest entry form.
Option 2: People's Choice Award Submit all materials from Option 1, along with a 3- to 5-minute DVD segment in which you talk about your creation and demonstrate its preparation. Only DVDs will be accepted, in the following formats: wmv, avi, mov, or mpg. The DVD must be no more than 100 MB in file size. Any video content that the CIA deems inappropriate will be disqualified from the People's Choice Award, but the recipe may still be considered for the other scholarships.

All entries must be received by November 2, 2009.

Determine Your Eligibility
To be eligible for participation in the Top Turkey Recipe Contest, you must graduate high school by June 30, 2010 and enroll at the CIA no later than December 2010. The contest is only available to freshmen entering the CIA in 2010; current students are not eligible.

Entries will be reviewed and selected by CIA faculty and staff. The selection committee will review recipes, personal statements, and photos, judging each entry on difficulty and quality of the recipe, as well as quality and showmanship of the final product.

The selection committee will also choose the finalists from the DVDs submitted for the People's Choice Award entries to be posted on YouTube. The CIA may use your first name, city, and state on YouTube for the purpose of this contest. There will be a two-week voting period during which the video with the highest ranking on YouTube will be declared the People's Choice Award winner. In the event there is a tie in the rankings, the video with the highest ranking and views will be chosen.

Please note, since we are not affiliated with YouTube and it is a third party source, the CIA reserves the right to end the contest prior to the posted end date if there is a technical difficulty or evidence of foul play.

All submissions become the property of The Culinary Institute of America and may be used by the college for promotional purposes.

Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, The Vegetarian Resource Group each year will award $10,000 in college scholarship money to graduating U.S. high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or fowl. Two awards of $5,000 each will be given. Entries may only be sent by students graduating from high school in spring 2010. Deadline is February 20, 2010. We will accept applications postmarked on or before February 20, 2010. Early submission is encouraged.

Applicants will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. Payment will be made to the student's college (U.S. based only). Winners of the scholarships give permission to release their names to the media. Applications and essays become property of The Vegetarian Resource Group. We may ask finalists for more information. Scholarship winners are contacted by telephone.

The Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship, renewable for up to four years. Most Evans Scholars also live in a campus Scholarship House with other Evans Scholars attending that university.

Applying for a Postgraduate Research Scholarship

Postgraduate Research Scholarships are available for full-time research at postgraduate level for study at one of Monash University's Australian campuses. Over 300 living allowance or stipend scholarships are offered at the main central selection round, which closes on 31 October each year. Approximately 70 international scholarship awardees are also offered scholarships to meet their tuition costs. In addition most faculties offer scholarships to a number of applicants who miss out on a central scholarship offer. A small mid-year scholarship round is held each year.

Applicants intending to undertake or who are currently enrolled for a research masters degree, PhD or research professional doctorate are eligible to apply.

Applicants must hold an Australian or New Zealand bachelors degree with first class honours or qualifications and/or research experience deemed equivalent by the university.

Special eligibility requirements apply for MIRA & MES, please refer to the detailed eligibility requirements.

Applicants currently completing an honours degree must have their results available by Monday 7 December 2009 to be eligible.

Applicant who do not hold an Australian or New Zealand bachelors degree with first class honours should refer to the H1 Equivalence assessment procedures.

Each scholarship has additional eligibility requirements for applicants who have for example already completed a research program or previously held a postgraduate award.

English language proficiency requirements
All applicants must meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements set by Monash University. The university reserves the right to seek additional proof of English proficiency where required.

English proficiency standards must be met and results (if applicable) contained with the scholarship application preferably by the closing date of 31 October 2009. Applicants with pending TOEFL or IELTS test scores must have the results available by Monday 7 December 2009 to be eligible.

English language proficiency requirements

Residency/studies by external mode
Awardees are required to reside within daily commuting distance to a Victorian campus to allow frequent and systematic use of university facilities, including use of physical resources, formal research training and daily face-to-face contact with supervisors if required.

Generally scholarships are not available for study under Monash's external mode regulations. An APA may be awarded to an applicant proposing to undertake studies as an external student, however the support of the relevant academic unit and faculty will be required. If successful, the awardee must reside in Australia in order to receive the award.

Part-time scholarship
A part-time scholarship may be awarded to an applicant with a medical condition precluding full-time study (supported by medical certification) or to an applicant who is able to demonstrate significant caring commitments, including:

caring responsibilities for a pre-school child
caring responsibilities for school-aged children as a sole parent with limited access to outside support
caring responsibilities for an invalid or disabled spouse, child or parent.

Part-time awards are not available to international applicants or to applicants seeking to undertake paid employment on a full-time or a substantial part-time basis. The same employment conditions that apply to full-time awardees apply to part-time awardees.

Prior enrolment/candidature
The duration of the award will be reduced if an applicant is part way through the degree for which the scholarship is offered. This includes prior enrolment in a masters degree where an awardee has upgraded to a doctoral degree and for awardees transferring their research program to Monash.

Awards will not be available to applicants who, as a result of prior candidature and/or prior scholarship, would be entitled to a maximum duration of less than 12 months.

Step 2 - Select a topic/research area (for new HDR applicants)

Monash University and its faculties are involved in innovative research across a wide range of disciplines. In addition to the research expertise available in departments and schools there are many discipline-specific research centres located within the University's 10 faculties.

Applicants should consider potential areas of research that interest them and align with their qualifications and experience. Reviewing faculty websites will help applicants determine which faculty and academic unit would be most appropriate for their proposed research.

Step 3 - Contact faculty and/or academic unit

If you are not already enrolled in the degree for which you seek scholarship support, you are strongly encouraged to contact the academic unit you propose to undertake your research in to ensure that the appropriate supervision and resources are available for your proposed research. Applicants may only apply to one academic unit. Applicants who are considering more than one academic unit are advised to discuss their options with the relevant academic units.

Applications for 2010 scholarships close on 31 October 2009. Late applications cannot be accepted. An application fee is not charged for scholarship applications.

Applicants are required to register in order to access the On-line Scholarship Application System. Applicants need to register with an email address which is valid until the end of March 2010. All correspondence regarding your application will be made via this email address. Note: Date of birth must be entered in the following format DD-MON-YYYY (eg: 13-DEC-1982). Alternatively use the provided drop-down calendar to enter your date of birth.

Applicants who have previously registered to use the Online Scholarship Application System are not required to re-register. Log into the scholarship system using your scholarship application username and password. Use the Forgot Password link to have a new password emailed to you, if required.

Current Monash students are encouraged to register with their Monash student authcate username and password. Information such as personal details and studies undertaken at Monash will be pre-populated in the application. You will be sent an email containing your username and password once you have successfully registered. To login to the system you will need to enter the username and password that has been emailed to you. Tip: copy and paste your username and password from the email, as the password is case-sensitive. Please note that you will not be able to register using your staff authcate username and password.

Equity Scholarships
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR MID YEAR INTAKE 2008 AND WILL CLOSE FRIDAY 13 JUNE 2008.
APPLICATIONS FOR 2009 WILL OPEN IN AUGUST 2008 AND CLOSE 30 NOVEMBER 2008.

Equity Scholarships include the Commonwealth Scholarships Programme (CS) established by the Australian Government, and Institution Equity Scholarships (IES) established by individual institutions. Equity Scholarships are comprised of many different scholarships and at CSU we offer the following scholarships:
Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (CAS-Ordinary) with up to four years of funding available, to assist with accommodation costs.
Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships (CECS-Ordinary) with up to four years of funding available, to assist with general education costs.
Indigenous Access Scholarships (CAS-Indigenous payment) through a once-only scholarship payment, to assist Indigenous students to undertake either an eligible enabling course or an undergraduate course. Each provider awarding an IAS to a student must provide the student with an on-going Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship (CECS) and, where eligible, a Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (CAS).
CSU Equity Scholarships as a one year payment for general education costs.
Applications for these scholarships are made via ONE application form and applications are asssessed by UAC using stringent criteria. Students do not need to signify which scholarship they are applying for. A centralised assessment scheme at UAC assesses all applications and then allocates the appropriate scholarships based on the criteria. For example, all applications are assessed for the Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (CAS). Applicants who do not receive or are not eligible for a CAS are then placed into the pool for a Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships (CECS). Those who do not receive a CECS then go into the pool for CSU Equity Scholarship.
In 2008 the Equity Scholarships scheme will include:
162 new Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships valued at $4,324 each
416 continuing Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships valued at $4,324 each
20 Indigenous Access Scholarships - valued at $4,080 each
181 new Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships valued at $2,162 each
341 continuing Commonwealth Education Scholarships valued at $2,162 each
300 CSU Equity Scholarships valued at $2,000 each

Scholarships for International Students
You will undoubtedly encounter several scholarship matching services that, for a fee, will offer to search a database of scholarships for awards that match your profile. Unfortunately, the vast majority of awards in these databases are restricted to US citizens and permanent residents. Don't waste your money on such services.
The following databases are dedicated to listing scholarships for international students in specific countries. You should also consider searching the free databases of scholarships on the www.FinAid site, since some of them include scholarships for international students. The www.FastWeb database, in particular, has good coverage of the awards available for international students.
A word of caution: If a scholarship has an application fee, don't apply. If you have to pay money to get money, it is probably a scam. For more information about scholarship scams, the unclaimed aid myth, and related topics, see the Scholarship Scams section of the FinAid site.

ScholarshipsCanada.com is a large searchable database of more than 17,000 scholarships, prizes, and bursaries for students in Canada. It includes both school-administered and private awards. Stöd & Stipendier AB (SOS AB)
SOS is a Swedish-based scholarship and grant search service, serving primarily European students who wish to study abroad. They also serve American students who want to study in Europe or in the Pacific region (Australia, NZ, Far East). They also do grant searches for institutions and associations with international activities. They have a staff of seven people working in Sweden and four in Riga, Latvia. They compile their own database, which lists 17,000 addresses, and they also have access to several other databases of Scandinavian origin (Billeso & Baltzer), European origin (European Foundation Centre and Maecenata) and American origin (Foundation Center, Scholarship Finder). They have been in business since 1992. Their fees, if the printout is sent by email, are
US$45 for undergraduate or graduate students and for ill or disabled persons looking for financial support,
US$75 for students aiming for a PhD or postdoctoral studies or research. (Smaller personal projects.)
US$95 for institutions, non-profit-organisations and other associations. (Larger projects.) Add US$5 for currency-charges. (This extra-charge will be dropped as soon as they have a simple and secure international digital payment-system working.) They also sell "Stora Fondboken" for US$58 for Macintosh or PC systems with information on 3,000 grants worldwide. It is also available as a CD-ROM for US$285 per year plus VAT. They are working on an online search service for their web page.
